Lessons From Early Stages Design Of Mobile Application

Lessons from Early Stage Design of Mobile Applications [1]

The paper addresses the lessons learned from the design process of several mobile applications and the difficulties that emerged along with some guidelines for future designs.

  1. Taking applications and trying to change them for mobile use often ends with them being cumbersome and users will avoid them.
  2. Outlines three very important design stages; outlining, prototyping, and evaluation.
  3. Designing applications for mobile devices that are easy to use and intuitive is becoming increasingly important as we start to use them more.
  4. The shoulder and head mounted camera's is much better than the questionnaire that they were first filling out.

  1. The low fidelity prototypes do not seem to give enough data to accurately evaluate the methods.
  2. Using an actual device would give more conclusive results
